Ask any athlete this question…whether they’re an Olympian or an amateur triathlete (that’s me)…
Should you train every single day?
What do you think they’ll answer?
They’ll answer YES! (Did you think the answer was NO?)
And here’s the reason:
Because REST and RECOVERY are an essential component of any successful training program.
So, even though you’re not going to run, bike, swim, weight train, etc…you ARE still training.
Your body – and your mind – need the time to recover! In fact, countless studies reveal the positive effects of rest on Peak Performance – both in athletic events and in life.
Taking time to rest helps you achieve more and perform better in any endeavor.
Remember this: Rest, Recover, Recharge, Reflect.
(Lots of R’s so they stick in your mind! 😉
In my case, I took a short break from blogging because I was recovering after our amazing Highway to Happiness Conference. Now, I’m back with more energy to focus on some great summer events!
This weekend…it’s your turn. What do you need to recover from?
- Daily workouts?
- Kids? (Yes, you even need breaks from your kiddos!)
And how you can schedule some recharging time?
Make a plan and then commit to doing it! You’ll feel energized to focus hard on your goals again. 🙂
Great Opportunity to Rest and Reflect This Weekend
Many of us have a three-day weekend for Memorial Day. This is a great opportunity to both take the time to rest and also to pause in the busyness of life to express gratitude.
If you or someone you love has made the sacrifice of serving our country – THANK YOU. We wouldn’t have a weekend to rest, recover, recharge, and reflect if it wasn’t for you.
Committed to your success,
